                                   Pretty Pancakes

Jazz-up an age old recipe with a little imagination!

My sister and I do this 2 different ways, see which you like best.

Ingredients:

1 recipe pancake batter

Kris’s Way:

1. Heat your pan or griddle, coat the bottom with butter or DF margarine.

2. Place a stainless steel cookie cutter (never plastic or copper) in the center of the pan and pour several Tbls. batter to fill the inside of the cutter.

3. Wait for bubbles to form over the top of the cake.  Lift it up with a spatula, wiggle the cookie cutter off and flip the cake over to finish cooking for another minute.

Jen’s Way:

1. Heat your pan or griddle, coat the bottom with butter or DF margarine.

2. Pour several Tbls. of batter in the center of the pan, cook until bubbles form on the top, flip and continue cooking for another minute.

3. Use your cookie cutter to cut the desired shapes!

If you use Jen’s way the kids can get involved, you can also use a more intricate cutter.

Our favorite shapes are hearts, tulips, circles, squares, triangles and butterflies.
